Privacy policy — Easy Escape Debt

Last updated: 11 September 2026

Easy Escape Debt is a personal finance and debt-payoff app. This policy describes what the app does with your information. It describes the app as it is today: there are no accounts, no sign-in and no server.

The short version

Your financial data stays on your phone. The app has no backend. We operate no servers, we have no database, and we cannot see your accounts, balances, debts or entries. There is no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no third-party software-development kit of any kind in the app.

What the app stores, and where

Everything you enter — accounts, balances, debts, recorded entries, your plan and your settings — is stored only in the app's own storage on your device. It is not transmitted anywhere as part of normal use.

If you delete the app, that data is deleted with it. This is why the app offers an Export a backup function, which hands you a file to keep wherever you choose. Where you then put that file, and its security, is under your control.

When anything leaves your device

The app makes no network requests at all unless you turn on the optional assistant. Statement reading and receipt scanning happen entirely on your phone and send nothing.

The optional assistant

The assistant is off unless you enable it. To use it you supply your own API key for a third-party AI provider. When you use it:

Android's encrypted preferences). It is never sent anywhere except to the provider you chose, and the app itself cannot read it back once saved.

category lists, a small number of recent transaction notes, and the text you typed or the document you chose to read.

transaction history, or any figure describing what you own or owe. This is enforced in the app's code and covered by an automated test.

address, email, phone number, PAN, IFSC code and customer ID are stripped, and the account number is reduced to its last four digits.

Anything you send this way is handled by that provider under their privacy policy, not ours. You should read it before enabling the feature.

Photographs

If you photograph a receipt, it is read on your device and the image is then discarded. The photograph is never uploaded and never stored by the app.

What we collect

Nothing. We do not collect, receive, store, sell or share any personal information. There is no account to create, and we have no way to identify you.

Children

The app is not directed at children and collects no information from anyone.

Your rights

Because your data never reaches us, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct or delete on your behalf. You control it directly: you can export it at any time from Settings → Backup, and erase all of it from Settings → Backup → Erase everything, or by deleting the app.

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and comparable laws elsewhere, rights of access, correction and erasure are exercised through the app itself, immediately and without needing to ask us.

Changes

If the app ever gains accounts or synchronisation, this policy will be replaced before that feature ships, and the change will be described here. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
